Welcome to Alexis Burrows’ Private Music Studio!
A little background of myself: I started taking piano lessons at six years old from my father who is an accomplished pianist who studied at the Manhattan School of Music. I then added voice training in my teen years and then I went on to earn a minor degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Arizona (2005). I then studied music education and obtained my Arizona Teaching Certificate in K-12 Music Education. I taught in the classroom for seven years, while teaching voice and piano privately. I am also a composer and wrote and produced an album in 2012. I am currently a Worship Leader at a church where I sing and play with a band and lead the congregation in song. I am also the lead singer and keyboardist in a local pop/rock group, Coyote Road, and am also a member of the 4-piece singing group, The Hot Mamas.

Private Voice and Piano Lessons
I teach private voice and piano lessons in either my home studio on the Northeast side of town or I can travel to your home. Lessons are typically scheduled once a week in your choice of 30 or 60 minute increments. I teach lessons throughout the entire year, including the summer months. I teach beginner and intermediate level piano students ages 5 and up and beginning to intermediate level voice students ages 8 and up. Although I teach all styles, I approach my teaching with the core values of classical training. I cover all areas of musicianship: theory, technique, analysis, harmony, ear-training, sight-reading, and performance. Lessons are typically divided into three sections: 
Warming up with already learned and new exercises, reviewing homework repertoire and theory, and learning new repertoire and theory. In addition, I make it a point to make piano and voice lessons fun, enjoyable and entertaining! I sincerely believe that because of the take-over of electronic music in this generation that playing the piano will be a highly-desired skill and your investment will be well-worth it!
